RV Place de la Famille offers free family fun to enjoy activities galore including period crafts like rag dolls, archery, face painting, tattoos, children's games, storytelling, inflatables, entertainment and more. The Walpole Island First Nation Pow Wow Demonstration features drummers, dancers and presenters who will share their culture including history, environment, the Anishinabemowin language, smudging/medicine, storytelling, and canoe exhibit. See what it took to survive as an explorer, the life skills needed, respect for the land and the relations with First Nations people. Reenactors will travel back in time and live the life of a voyageur. Metis Strings and Jiggers is a high-energy show that shares their metis roots with the audience through music and dance. Marcel Beneteau, a popular folk singer, will entertain visitors with traditional French songs that best document the traditional folklore of Ontario francophones. Le Voyageur Errant features Jay Bailey who provides visitors with an authentic interpretation of the fur trade life including authentic birch bark canoe, furs, artifacts and tools. Tibert Le Voyageur is a Franco-Manitoban storyteller, author, stage performer and poet, who shares his passion for history and culture. Metis Roots is an authentic 1700 French-mixed blood, fur trade encampment featuring historic clothing, trade goods and furs. Michel Payment, Franco-Ontario singer and songwriter, will bring his unique folk, folklore and rock music style. Survival in the Bush is a 17th century courier de bois encampment featuring fire-starting demonstrations with flint and steel, cordage making, furrier display, and more.

We are also offering a free shuttle service from the Vollmer Complex to Gil Maure Park on Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. We make getting there easy with free LaSalle Transit service all day on Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21.
Contact the Vollmer Complex for more information. For our seniors, we have a Senior Day Trip planned with bus transportation from the Vollmer Complex to the festival. If you are looking for a great PA Day Camp experience, register your child at the Vollmer Complex and they can take part in our field trip to the festival. Friday, September 20 is a PA Day for many local schools and will be a great place to spend some family time together! Admission is free and all are welcome.
The festival is open on September 20 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and on September 21 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. The event takes place at Gil Maure Park, 1180 Front Road, in LaSalle. We are commemorating our local history including First Nations, métis and French cultures. Join us for a unique experience to explore the 1600-1700's at our Rendez-Vous Voyageur Festival.
